I am an ACTOR.
Coming from a family into the stone-crushing business in Jammu, I am the first person in my family to try my luck in the big bad world of cinema.
After doing my graduation from Chandigarh and working for two years in the stone-crushing business in Bombay, I packed my bags and left India to join my wife whose family ran a traditional departmental store in Fiji.
"I was in Fiji for some years. From there I went over to New Zealand to work as a store manager. But I was modeling for various companies at the same time”.
However, I could hardly find out time for modeling due to busy job schedule. Also, I wasn't completely satisfied with my modeling assignments and my heart yearned for home. And so, after seven long years, I returned to Bombay and enrolled at Roshan Taneja's acting school & Madhumati acting & dance School..
Put it down to either talent, Taneja gave me the go-ahead in six months. And comforted by the thought of that kind of confidence, I began haunting the offices of producers.
The first break I got was in Sanjay Khan's serial, Tipu Sultan, where I played the villain, Mir Sadiq.
However, my tryst with fame came with my role in Priyadarshan's Gardish in 1994.
Later I proved to be an consolidated actor by the awful performance in movie Sarfarosh, driven by the role of inspector Salim.
People recognize me with my work then that of my name. And this is a big compliment in it self for any artist. I have became one of the busiest actor in South Indian Industry by working with Big Stars like Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, Mahesh Babu in more than 52 films in Telugu alone and many other South Indian regional films as a Villain.
Played in critically-acclaimed Punjabi film Warish Shah, where I played Maqdoom Baba, the guru of the great sufi saint.
