Tag Corporation TAG was started in the year 1972 by two Engineers, R.T.Chari and R.V.Gopalan who are still and integral part of the company today. R.T.Chari is an Electrical Engineer by qualification and graduated from the Guindy College of Engineering in 1961. He is the Managing Partner of TAG Corporation. He served as the Techno Commercial Manager in M/s Seshasayee Industries, a leading Insulator manufacturer then, for 17 years before starting TAG. R.V.Gopalan is a Mechanical Engineer by qualification also having graduated from the Guindy college of Engineering in 1971. He joined TAG directly after graduation when the industry was started. He is the Director of TAG Corporation Pvt. Ltd. About 60 conductor manufacturers both from within India and all over the world regularly test their products in TAG Laboratories. At present this laboratory is the only Laboratory in India to have all the testing facilities required for testing conductors as per the Indian standards and various other International standards, all under one roof. In the last 35 years, TAG has supplied about Rupees 3000 million worth of fittings. Tag group (TAG Corporation and its subsidiaries) today possesses an area of about 7 Acres (29000 Sq. Mts) and about 18000 Sq. Mts. of building and factory area. Today TAG has enough facility to manufacture and supply about 400 million Rupees ( 10 Million USD) worth of material per annum.
