The Sawridge Group of Companies was founded by the Sawridge Cree First Nation of Slave Lake, Alberta. The first enterprise was the construction of a hotel at Sawridge’s ancestral home, Slave Lake, in 1972. Ten years later in 1982, a parcel of land was acquired from Parks Canada and the tradition continued with the construction of a second hotel in Jasper National Park. Today, the Sawridge Group of Companies consists of various real estate holdings, land developments, retail and service businesses and an additional 3 hotels, namely Fort McMurray, Peace River and Edmonton.
With 40 years of success in the hospitality sector, Sawridge has gained valuable industry experience and has developed a strong team of management and supervisory personnel. Our properties offer guests the comfort and warmth esteemed and valued by the native culture. With décor presented in local woods and stone, accented with indigenous art and fireplaces, our properties welcome guests with a level of hospitality that transcends the centuries. Our hotels are natural, clean and demonstrate respect for the environment, each participating in the Green Key Rating Program. Instilled in our work is a tradition of respect, fairness and a commitment to exceptional value for our customers.
We stay true to the Sawridge brand by offering unequalled hospitality, a respect for people and the environment; and exceptional service to all of our business partners and guests. From management awards to environmental awards, the Sawridge brand has received a great deal of recognition in the Alberta market.
