The mission of Renewable Energy Alaska Project (REAP) is to increase the development of renewable energy and promote energy efficiency in Alaska through collaboration, education, training and advocacy.
REAP is a coalition of Alaska utilities, businesses, consumer groups, Alaska Native organizations, and municipal, state and federal entities with an interest in developing Alaska’s vast renewable energy resources. The size and diversity of REAP’s membership allows us to facilitate meaningful conversation and collaboration that contributes to long-lasting policy consensus and sustainable impact.
REAP’s current initiatives include working to improve the efficiency of the Railbelt electricity grid, advancing microgrids through the Alaska Microgrid Partnership and the Islanded Grid Resource Center, educating K-12 students and teachers statewide through the AK Energy Smart and Wind for Schools curricula, identification of gaps and needed for workforce development in the field, and promoting holistic community development through the Sustainable Southeast Partnership.
