Shanghai International Institute of Design and Innovation (SIIDI) is established with the joint efforts of Shanghai municipal government and a five-university consortium led by Tongji University. SIIDI aims to help accelerate commercialization of academic research, achieve cross-disciplinary collaborations, and create innovative entrepreneurial projects. SIIDI focuses on three vertical areas: transportation ecology, urban quality living, application of high tech and data technology. During the productization and commercialization of research outcome, SIIDI intends to help research undergo system design exercises, to foster cross-disciplinary collaborative research, to expedite application of research in the market, and eventually creates a design-driven and innovative environment. 上海国际设计创新研究院,依托于上海市政府财政基金和同济大学牵头的上海五所大学及设计学科为基础而成立,目标是促成高校研究成果转化,实现交叉学科的创新及帮助创造标杆性的创业项目。研究院主要关注三大领域:大交通生态,都市品质生活,和高科技;通过系统设计框架下在这些领域的研究,帮助促成单一领域的研究向交叉跨界学科延伸,来驱动和促进创新,最后实现产品化和产业化。
