Our economy and society increasingly rely on data and AI applications. These innovations highlight technological opportunities. Legal, social and ethical issues are secondary. The Knowledge Center for Data and Society will be the central hub for collecting societal input and channeling it to companies, policy and the general public. In this way, social actors in Flanders can make their mark on local and global research and development around data-driven applications and AI innovations.
The Knowledge Center will not only offer practical information on AI and data applications, but will also provide support around legal, ethical and social aspects through the development of toolkits, guidelines and frameworks. For this purpose, the Knowledge Center will gather input from various stakeholders so that the social relevance of their work meets real needs.
