Thai-Chinese International School (TCIS) is a private, non-profit, day school for boys and girls founded in 1995 for the purpose of providing English language education for the Taiwanese community of Bangkok, as well as Thai and other communities.
The students are multi-lingual, many of mixed race and culture marriages, and many hold dual nationalities. Our students are motivated, hardworking, flexible, and quick to adapt to new environments.
The school curriculum is an extension of progressive American methods, modified in order to meet the expectations of the Taiwanese and Thai school community. On June 13, 2008, the enrollment was 875.
Thai-Chinese International School (TCIS) offers a PreK-12 curriculum that draws from the United States for the core Western curriculum. Since TCIS is a tri-lingual school, all students must take a minimum of one class per day of Mandarin and Thai languages. Intensive Mandarin language courses with an emphasis in Chinese history and culture are taught daily.
English is the medium of instruction in all courses other than Thai and Mandarin. TCIS offers 11 Advanced Placement Courses and has Music/Arts/Sports departments that offer diverse courses for all students.
Thai-Chinese International School was first accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) in 2002. The Visiting Team will return to TCIS in November 2008.
TCIS is licensed and accredited under the Private Education Commission of the Thai Ministry of Education, and accredited by the Ministry of Education, Republic of China. We are a member of the East Asian Regional Council of Overseas Schools (EARCOS).
