Student Population: Pre-primary, Primary and Middle School, approximately 300/year.
Six artists founded Blue School in 2006 -- the three original members of Blue Man Group, Matt Goldman, Chris Wink, and Phil Stanton with photographer and sculptor Renee Rolleri, painter and graphic designer Jen Wink, and dancer Jennifer Stanton. In September 2011, Blue School moved to its permanent home at 241 Water Street in Lower Manhattan. Rebecca Skinner, Interim Head of School, leads a team of 70 faculty members and 30 administrators. Leaders from the fields of education, psychology, design and neuroscience such as Sam Chaltain, Pamela J. Clarke, Lawrence J. Cohen, John Maeda, Steve Nelson, Sir Ken Robinson, David Rockwell, Dr. Dan Siegel, and Jeffrey C. Walker currently or have served on Blue School's Advisory Board and regularly partner with the school to turn its vision into reality.
