Manchester Creative Studio is an exciting new school for talented students aged 14-19. Opening in September 2014, our combination of project based learning, work placements and paid employment provides an innovative ‘hands on’ approach to education.
We place the highest importance on academic excellence and all students will study core GCSE subjects including English, Maths and Science. On completing their studies, students will have the full range of progression routes available to them. They will have gained the qualifications, knowledge and skills to enter the jobs market from an advantageous position; start an apprenticeship; or go on to further or higher education.
About Studio Schools:
Funded by the Department for Education, the Studio School is a new concept in education, which seeks to address the growing gap between the skills and knowledge that young people require to succeed, and those that the current education system provides.
Studio Schools pioneer a bold new approach to learning that includes teaching through enterprise projects and real work. This approach ensures students’ learning is rooted in the real world and helps them to develop the skills they need to flourish in life.
Working closely with local employers, Studio Schools will offer a range of academic and vocational qualifications including GCSEs in English, Maths and Science, as well as paid work placements linked directly to employment opportunities in the local area.
