Blueshift Memory is a Cambridge UK-based technology company that addresses the von Neumann bottleneck (or tailback) in high-performance computing to enable processing to keep pace with spiralling data demands. Our new proprietary memory chip design is dedicated to handling large data sets and time-critical data.
Blueshift Memory is a fabless IP semiconductor business designed to integrate into the FPGA and ASIC design flow, with a software runtime to make system integration into full SoC-based systems easier, faster and more reliable. It optimizes the memory architecture so that large data sets and time-critical data can be more efficiently handled, to deliver exceptional memory access speed up to 1,000 times faster for specific data-focused applications.
The company is researching new memory modules to reduce the performance gap between CPUs and RAM, and provide considerably greater memory speeds and break through the current 'Memory Wall'. Databases would allow dynamic data to be calculated without preprocessing. Big Data, AI, HPC, video cards and network routers are also areas where the technology is a valuable tool.
The company is also implementing a library to allow programmers to create data engine independent coding, reducing costs of testing and development. This also allows for easier data engine migration, and requires less coding proficiency on the software engineers' part.
