Essex County Cricket Club was founded in 1876 with its First Class debut played against Leicester in 1895 at Leyton. The Club is based at The Essex County Ground, in Chelmsford, and used to play at festival cricket in Castle Park, Colchester. We are a Members' Club, run by a committee of elected representatives of our supporters.
