Hispanic Link was founded in 1979 by Charlie Ericksen and Sebastiana Mendoza. The Link has covered the Hispanic community in the U.S. with an emphasis on Washington, D.C. It also syndicates opinion columns in Spanish and English. Hispanic Link has published more than 700 Latino writers and journalists. It also has been a training ground for dozens of Latino journalists who have gone on to work at various media outlets, including The Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, Time magazine, the Chicago Tribune, and National Public Radio.
