The National Portuguese ICT Cluster - TICE.PT was created in 2008, with headquarters in Aveiro. It engages and mobilizes relevant actors throughout Portugal, and in particular in the regions of Braga, Porto, Coimbra, and Lisbon, covering the entire value chain in the area of ICT. The concertation platform TICE.PT ensures and promotes the interfaces between the academic world, represented by universities and institutes R&D, the business world, represented by the affiliates and also through networks, in particular of SMEs, represented by their associations.
The National Portuguese ICT Cluster TICE.PT, Site of Information Technologies, Communication, and Electronics, was formally recognized by the Portuguese Government in August 2009, within the framework of Collective Efficiency Strategies of NSRF.
The TICE.PT aims to promote and leverage networking strategies for the sector. The network between companies and R&D centers, in order to induce a renewal active in a national economic context, producing positive effects on the national offering, enhanced by innovation and knowledge, creating export capacity and added value in domestic products.
