Here at WINFIELD RACING SCHOOL, we are passionate about sharing the incredible experience of driving on-track, as well as discovering motorsport’s future talents.
Established in 1964 by Mike and Richard Knight, Winfield Racing School first opened its doors at Magny-Cours before adding a second school at Paul Ricard Circuit in the early 1970s. The Racing School has a long history within the motorsport industry and was the training ground for many of the best-known F1 drivers from the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s. Indeed, over 30 F1 drivers started their careers with Winfield, including Alain Prost, Damon Hill, Jacques Laffite, Didier Pironi, Patrick Tambay, Christian Danner, Ukyo Katayama, Jean Alesi and Olivier Panis. Between them, Winfield Racing School graduates have achieved some 90 Grand Prix race wins and 5 Formula 1 World Championship titles.
Today, Winfield Racing School provides exclusive and tailor-made programs for a brand new crop of racing drivers hoping to forge a career in single-seaters and F1. Winfield’s staff are already well versed in handling single-seater and Formula 1 taster programmes having hosted more than 2,500 VIP guests as part of the Renault and Lotus F1 Team Driving Experience over the last 10 years.
