Assistance League® of Atlanta for 40 years is part of Assistance League, a national, nonprofit, volunteer community service organization that helps children & adults in need.
Our partner network includes 235 elementary & middle schools in DeKalb County, Fulton County & the Atlanta Public Schools; 7 Georgia colleges & universities; numerous hospitals & medical centers; police & fire departments; & more than 15 social agencies & other charities.
To best serve the community, social workers, directors & financial aid officers identify those in need & act as liaisons between recipients & Assistance League. Although the Covid-19 pandemic curtailed activities in the last three months of our fiscal year, we still continued to help the community as much as possible. Here are the highlights for our fiscal year ending May 31, 2020:
Backpack Buddies, provided 30 elementary school children with 1,050 bags of food over a period of 30 weeks.
