Scanprobe was started by Michael Barry who began his career in the 1960’s in the plumbing industry located in south London (England). He went on to invent the first of a long line of drainage inspection systems which were used predominately by Councils and Water authorities.
As the business expanded Scanprobe moved to Croydon in the 1980’s where Michael’s son, (Jon Barry) joined the company. After Michael retired in 2003, Jon took over as Managing Director to carry on the successful business.
In May 2009 Scanprobe moved to our current premise - a 12,000 sq.ft bespoke factory in Surrey - where we now employee 25 staff and manufacture and retail a range of inspections system, which are also sold throughout the world through our various agents.
The company has a hire department where the systems can be rented on a daily or weekly basis. We also have a large workshop to service and maintain our systems and carry a full range of spares.
Scanprobe also manufacture and resell the RENOLINE DRAIN LINING SYSTEM - draining line materials and equipment that is now the proven and established method of placing a new pipe within a damaged pipe, without excavation and with minimal disruption.
The Scanprobe range of CCTV inspection systems have been evolving constantly through three decades and will carry on evolving to meet the needs of our customers. The result is a range of practical and reliable systems suitable for use in drains, water mains, chimneys, bore holes and sewers in pipe diameters from 35mm up to 1500mm.
