The Energy and Bioproducts Research Institute (EBRI) at Aston University in Birmingham, UK is a world leading research institute which welcomes collaborations from academia, government bodies and industry.
EBRI are providing practical bioenergy and bioproduct solutions to open up these high growth markets to companies and local authorities in the West Midlands, UK, Europe and beyond.
Our innovative technology uses waste to produce green, sustainable energy and valuable by-products. This provides a range of benefits including the efficient production of electricity and heat as well as an effective waste management solution.
Useful by-products include gases, chemicals and biochar - a sustainable form of charcoal offering numerous benefits and uses including carbon capture, soil and water treatment, odour control and animal health, as well as carbon credit and construction industry opportunities.
EBRI are working with a number of organisations who are looking to invest in bioenergy plants and biochar technology. These plants will be constructed, run and managed by businesses in the bioenergy supply chain. The supply chain requires a range of SMEs based in the West Midlands from accountants to I.T. suppliers.
Many groups can benefit from being involved with bioenergy and EBRI has been tasked with sharing the knowledge and supporting companies and projects across the UK and Europe. We are looking to link with:
• Local Authorities
• Regional Organisations
• Energy and Waste Management Companies
• Businesses and organisations interested in adopting bioenergy
• West Midlands based SMEs who want to be involved in the biochar and bioproduct market
• Investors looking for a green and ethical investment opportunity
• Potential Partners
• Academic Institutes working in the field
