St. Francis Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health, is an acute care teaching hospital, and is most noted for its Cardiac Surgery program. It offers Mercer County's only cardiac surgery center and was the county's first accredited Stroke Center. St. Francis features regional services including the Heart Hospital, a Regional Cancer Center, Emergency Medicine and Primary Care services, and an extensive Community Outreach Program. St. Francis is known for its well-regarded School of Nursing and School of Radiologic Technology programs, as well as its Internal Medicine Residency program in partnership with Seton Hall University School of Medicine. A leader in care, St. Francis created the state of New Jersey's first PACE (Program for the All-Inclusive Care of the Elderly) center, LIFE St. Francis, which became a model for PACE programs throughout the state. The medical center was founded by the Sisters of St. Francis nearly 150 years ago with a mission to be a transforming, healing presence for those in the communities that it serves. That same mission is carried out today.
