It was back in 1975 that Steve Moynihan first broke into the marine industry with a position at a yacht multiple listing firm. His first week on the job was at the Miami Boat Show. Steve’s position at the MLS eventually opened doors into yacht brokerage and then in 1977 when the license law required applicants to be 21 years old, Steve started a career in yacht sales. In just two short years, Steve co-founded HMY Yacht Sales, and today is the sole owner. “I wasn’t nervous about going on my own,” he quips. “I didn’t know any better.”
The family-owned business has flourished into one of the largest yacht brokerage companies in the world and now has 14 sales locations, 4 service locations, and a team of over 90 dedicated sales, support, and service people.
