Abha Singh is a practising Advocate in Mumbai and a nationally known personality. She is recognised as a lady fervently involved in upholding Human Rights and Gender Justice. Some of the famous cases handled by her are the Salman Khan Hit and Run case, AIB Roast, Right to Accessibility for the Disabled, PILs to ban manual scavenging and right to use loudspeaker during peaceful protests
A university topper throughout, Abha Singh did her M.Phil. from the Jawaharlal Nehru University. The United Nations and The Rights of Child. Initially, she worked as a Customs Appraiser for about 3 years, before joining the Indian Postal Service, where she worked for about 17 years.
She took Voluntary Retirement from central government service on November 2012 and within a short time, due to her oratory skills and an astute acumen to comprehend national issues, she has become a recognizable face on many matters, arguing in several Courts to get justice for others.
Having worked at grassroot levels and deep knowledge, Abha Singh was the finalist in the very toughly contested Lead India Campaign, a Times of India initiative. She was awarded the Chevening Scholarship to do a Leadership Course at London School of Economics. A popular face on TV debates, considering her overwhelming verbal acumen, even a formidable opponent is often marginalised. For the reason of such attributes and a commanding personality, Abha Singh exudes an enormous screen presence on the TV which makes her recall value among the people very high.
She has been invited as a speaker at numerous events such as TedX Oxbridge held at SAID Business School in 2017, Speaker Series by India Society, University of Oxford on the occasion of International Women's Day in March 2018 and also by the School of International and Public Affairs, Columbia University, USA, as a speaker at the “India Dialogues” in December 2018. She has spoken at IIM Bangalore, ISB Hyderabad, various Law Colleges on issues of National importance.
