New England Turkish Student Association Inc. (NETSA) is a student-run, independent, non-profit organization whose aim is to unite Turkish students in higher institutions across New England and promote Turkish culture & heritage. Our founding team consists of Turkish college students from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), Boston University (BU), University of Massachusetts (UMass) Boston and University of UMass Lowell. We have come together to form this organization as a platform for Turkish students in New England colleges to build new connections. We hope to bring out strong relationships, valuable networking opportunities and lifelong friendships among Turkish students studying in the New England Area. Within the past year, we have hosted several social events for our members to meet each other and create a strong connection within schools. We have founded one of NETSA's branch as NETSAxpress, the networking event series, where we host renowned professionals in the greater Boston area for speakers events and networking opportunities. We have also initiated a new program, Rising Leaders of Boston, in cooperation with Yeni Bir Lider, where we help students find valuable internship opportunities within the top companies in Turkey. To move forward, we have already invited Turkish Student Associations of many colleges and institutions in New England area to become our affiliates so that we can grow faster and bigger.
