Legacy Centre of Excellence is a Business and Arts Centre. With: virtual offices, meeting rooms, event spaces, 2 bars, a restaurant, coffee lounge and theatre. We can host meetings from 2 up to have parking for 60 cars. We are DDA compliant and have facilities for people with disabilities. We are Covid compliant and have space for socially distanced working.
We are Europe’s largest independent Black-owned business and arts centre. Based in Aston, one of Birmingham’s most diverse communities, we are dedicated to championing and enhancing our local and national community.
We exist to offer great cultural, artistic and educational activities that uplift and upskill. We do this by providing the best in events, workshops and projects that encourage people to come together in a safe curated space, which puts their individual and collective needs at the heart.
Formerly the Drum Arts Centre, the venue was purchased in 2019 by 7E Youth Academy, a Birmingham based Social Enterprise founded by Keith ‘Cipher’ Shayaam-Smith. Our newly refurbished multipurpose building has two theatres, café, restaurant, offices, business suite and multimedia suites that are accessible and available to all.
We are on a mission to join forces with wide range of people and organisations across public, private, charitable sectors in order to inspire, connect and enable young people citizens and entrepreneurs. We believe that the way to long-term change starts with investing in people first; our focus is social, cultural and environmental return over financial return.
We want Legacy to re-shape the idea of what’s possible for passionate and resilient community innovators, though leaders and dreamers. This project was once a small collective idea by members of our community, it has now is evolved into a sustainable change-making Business and Arts Centre that will continue to transform lives for years to come.
