Yabonga Children's Project is a non-governmental organization supporting people living with HIV and their families. We are based in Cape Town and operate in seven township communities around the city, supporting about 900 children. More recently the focus of work has shifted away from solely HIV related services, to give greater attention to the child and youth development components in our programmes.
With a stronger emphasis on education, we are now providing holistic care to children and youth including academic support, counselling and play therapy, as well as physical wellbeing. Operationally, Yabonga comprimes three core programmes - the Adult Programme, the Orphans & Vulnerable Children (OVC) Programme and the Youth Programme. These are supplemented by a number of satellite initiatives such as the Crafts Programme, the Nutrition Programme and recently we opened the Safe House, which we are very proud of.
This page is set up in order to stay in touch with all alumni. We will post information about any news and hope you keep on supporting us from all over the world. Feel free to invite others!
