The National Water Commission provides independent, evidence-based advice to the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) and the Australian Government on national water issues. The 2014-15 Budget confirmed the Australian Government's decision to close the National Water Commission at the end of this year. Some of the Commission's core functions will transfer to other agencies.
