Burundi Friends International, also known as BFI, is a San Diego-born 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization founded by Burundi native Jeanine Niyonzima-Aroian in 2007 and formed to help fight poverty in Burundi by creating Education, Healthcare, and Self-sustaining Enterprise opportunities in Burundi. We are a small but passionate group working to fulfill those three pillars that form our foundation, as they play a crucial role in directing the projects that we undertake. BFI hopes to be ambassador to the people of Burundi in voicing their existence, state of life, and obtaining and providing assistance that will help to result in a future of more stability.
