The Young Leaders for Indonesia (YLI) is an intensive leadership development program initiated by McKinsey & Company Indonesia in 2008 and the implementation of the program is now under the auspices of the Young Leaders for Indonesia Foundation.
The YLI Foundation believes that helping unleash Indonesia’s potential will require a growing cadre of world-class leaders with strong leadership skills, a global mindset, and knowledge of local culture and traditions. The Foundation is fully committed to addressing the need for talent and leadership development in Indonesia.
The YLI program is tailored for outstanding Indonesian students from various leading universities in Indonesia and around the world as participants. The YLI program aims to develop the student's potential by introducing leadership and proactive problem-solving skills through McKinsey’s framework, program fieldwork, and a forum approach; to help the final-year university students to transition to their first job and to develop their vision as future leaders on how they can support Indonesia's development. For 14 years, the YLI Program has developed 1228 talented young leaders to date, who contribute to various sectors in the country. To broaden the impact and the reach of the program, the YLI Foundation is committed to continue delivering its mission towards developing the next generation of Indonesian leaders.
