The First Tee of Mid-Michigan is a youth development organization that uses golf as its vehicle to teach Life Skills and The First Tee’s Nine Core Values to children in the greater mid-Michigan community. The First Tee of Mid-Michigan is one of over 200 chapters of The First Tee, an organization that is recognized as one of the premier youth character-education programs in the country. The First Tee of Mid-Michigan is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization and is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors. We rely on local support from numerous corporations, foundations and individuals. All financial support remains in mid-Michigan, doing good for our area's young people.
Founded locally in 2007, The First Tee of Mid-Michigan has seen consistent growth and support over the past five years of programming. Young people come from throughout the Lansing area and beyond for programming at the Sycamore Learning Center and other affiliate sites.
The First Tee of Mid-Michigan programs are enjoyable and safe for the children who participate in them. Our objective is to provide affordable and accessible golf facilities, instructional programs and life skills for young people, particularly those who have not yet had access to the game.
The First Tee of Mid-Michigan is staffed by certified The First Tee Coaches, who are often assisted by committed volunteers.
