FZAD is an architectural and design firm that was started in 1986. The firm has completed a number of retail and residential projects ranging in scope and complexity. Through FZAD staff and Frederic Zonsius they have completed projects in the high-end Retail sector and high-end Residential sector. Such clients include Furla, Max Mara, Divide Cenci, and Ghurka, Oscar de la Renta and Kenneth Cole. Through FZAD's ten-year association with Max Mara FZAD has set up systems of purchasing, and project management in order to offer a “wrap around” level of service to their clients. FZAD + it's staff are architects, designers and construction managers all having the ability to understand the client’s needs on the front end and has the architectural and interior design skills to seeing a project completed error free on the back end. This cross section of abilities demonstrates their skills to manage budgets, manage staff, interface with a client and be able to run a firm successfully for the past 36 years. The firm approaches each project with a specific design aesthetic that results in a project that creates emotional responses through the manipulation of the scale of spaces, dramatic lighting effects, juxtaposed use of materials, and the excitement created by sequential movement through spaces that FZAD designs.
