The inaugural Invictus Games were held in London in September 2014. The Duke of Sussex, Patron of the Invictus Games Foundation, and the organising committee of the London 2014 Games always hoped that this event would be the beginning of the ‘Invictus’ story and that other cities and countries around the world would take up the challenge.
Since then, the Invictus Games have been held in Orlando, USA in 2016 and Toronto, Canada in 2017 and Sydney, Australia in 2018.
The Invictus Games The Hague 2020, presented by Jaguar Land Rover, was due to take place this year from May 29 to June 5, 2021, and has now been postponed. The Invictus Games Foundation and the Organising Committee, after consultation with the teams, partners and stakeholders, has decided to move the event to April 16th - April 22nd 2022. This move is to avoid current social distancing measures that would otherwise negatively impact the recovery journey of its competitors.
