Here at Everyone Can, we help disabled people to gain independence through the power of technology. Through training and assistive technology, we help disabled people to communicate, access technology, control their environment and have fun!
At our Technology & Gaming centre based in Sale, South Manchester we offer a range of services to disabled people. We carry out assessments where we learn what a person wishes to achieve and how their disability is holding them back, this could be for them to speak, to use a computer or to play video games. We then match technology to their needs and help them achieve their goals and ultimately help them gain independence!
We also hold free weekly gaming sessions for disabled children and adults. With our state of the art gaming suite we have four huge screens for multiplayer games, a driving wheel, virtual reality stations, an old-school arcade machine and then a number of accessible gaming stations designed to quickly get disabled gamers set up and gaming alongside others! Our gaming sessions are for children and adults with any disability – for physically disabled people who may struggle to use a regular gaming controller we use assistive technology and match it to their needs. For gamers with neurodiverse disabilities such as Autism, Asperger’s etc. it is about helping improve their social skills, helping them gain confidence, make friends and game together –we truly have seen the power of gaming at our centre!
We also offer an outreach service so if you require an assessment but can’t get to our centre in Manchester we will look at ways of coming out to you.
Our charity’s aim is to enable access to technologies and to develop the skills and confidence to help disabled people move ahead in life and become more independent.
