Founded in 1995 as the Western Australian Internet Association (WAIA), we are a member-based association representing the Internet community.
The Association changed its name to the Internet Association of Australia Inc (IAA) in April 2016. In October 2021 IAA changed its incorporation to a Public Company Limited by Guarantee under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) and became Internet Association of Australia Ltd (IAA).
IAA are providers of IX Australia, Australia’s only not for profit and carrier natural Internet peering exchange. IAA supports the development of the Internet both in Australia and internationally and has been instrumental in the development of the New Zealand Internet Exchange Incorporated.
IAA representatives are available for comment on a range of issues regarding the internet including, but not limited to, internet infrastructure, internet technologies and the use of the Internet in business. IAA is keen to provide independent, balanced information and impartial advice for Internet users including businesses, parents, kids, schools, seniors, the media, law enforcement and mobile users.
