Kid Spark Education is a nonprofit based in Webb City, MO with the goal to help all students develop their confidence and skills in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). By 3rd or 4th grade, most students have decided whether or not STEM is for them based on the exposure they’ve had to it growing up. For girls, children of color, and children from low-income families who don’t typically get a lot of exposure to STEM at an early age, we have ample evidence to show that they’ll opt out of a STEM path in school. We want (and need) to disrupt that pattern. When students grasp the underlying concepts of engineering and technology, and see themselves as capable of doing STEM, it opens up an entirely new world for them. As a result, they improve their problem-solving abilities, their creativity, and their ability to collaborate with their peers. Every child deserves that possibility.
In order to reach as many students as possible, we train elementary and middle school educators, both in the United States and around the world, to teach Kid Spark’s curated and researched-based engineering education program to their Pre-K to 8th-grade students. Our programs are hands-on, easy to teach, and affordable.
