IITRI was founded in 1936 as the research arm of the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). IITRI operates as an independent, not-for-profit preclinical contract research organization and research institute. Current facilities include over 110,000 square feet of laboratory space in one location in Chicago, with all functions under one roof. Areas of specialty include preclinical safety and toxicology, inhalation toxicology, biodefense and infectious disease studies, and bioanalytical services. In addition, we have extensive experience evaluating the efficacy and preclinical safety of cancer therapeutics and are the largest commercial CRO contractor to the National Cancer Institute (NCI).
We provide preclinical safety and toxicology testing services to sponsors from the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, consumer products, and chemical industries, as well as to the U.S. Government for rodent, non-rodent and non-human primate (NHP) studies. Our researchers provide specialized expertise in infectious disease, IND-enabling toxicology programs, inhalation toxicology for chemicals or pharmaceuticals, and cancer biology/immunology.
As a mid-size CRO, we provide personalized attention and rapid study start dates. Our PhD/DABT study directors are available for consultation and updates throughout the duration of the study, and we offer flexible study design and adjustments. We look forward to discussing your study with you!
