Dierengezondheidszorg Vlaanderen - DGZ for short - is a non-profit organisation by and for livestock farmers that supports the partnership between livestock farmers and their veterinarians. Its diverse staff carry out research, develop animal health programmes and guide livestock farmers and veterinarians in the monitoring, control and prevention of animal diseases. Every year, DGZ carries out over 1 million laboratory examinations and nearly 10,000 autopsies in the context of animal health care. Proper identification and registration of farms and animals is a must, which DGZ also supports the livestock farmer in. By providing its customers with high-quality, reliable services and products, DGZ helps the livestock farmer, the agri-food chain and the consumer to track an animal and its products from production to processing and distribution. In this way, DGZ forms an indispensable link in monitoring food safety and contributes to offering solutions for sustainable animal (health) care.
