The James Dyson Award is an annual international design competition run by the James Dyson Foundation, James Dyson's charitable trust. It challenges current and recent engineering and design students to design something that solves a problem.
Those who enter have the opportunity to win £30,000 as the international winner and £30,000 as the sustainability winner. It allows young inventors a chance give their ideas the exposure they need to kick start their careers.
Currently running in 28 countries and regions: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the Philippines, Poland, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States.
