Technical and Vocational Training Organization is affiliated to Ministry of Cooperation, Labor and Social Welfare of I. R. Iran that was created with the merger of three educational and training institutions in 1980 in order to offer technical and vocational training. On the basis of more than 10 ratified acts and article 151 of the Three Development Plan Act of Iran confirmed in the Fourth Development Plan, Technical and Vocational Training Organization is the authority responsible for short-term technical and vocational trainings and is charge of the Specialized Unofficial Technical and Vocational Trainings Committee in which 16 ministries, organizations and labor and employer institutions are members.
Technical and Vocational Training Organization administers its trainings both in governmental and non-governmental sectors. In addition to a headquarters, Technical and Vocational Training Organization has 31 departments general throughout Iran and a Trainer Education Center. In order to achieve modern technologies and sciences and conformity with international standards, Technical and Vocational Training Organization attempts to develop its international relations with others including ILO and International Vocational Training Organization and other countries. Putting the structural integrity of the organization aside, the training part of Technical and Vocational Training Organization performs its activities according to international standards with the support of the research department.
