Steel was first produced on this site at Sheerness in 1972. A tradition of over 30 years development, innovation and supply of quality steel products is continued from the site of the UK's first 'mini mill.' Thamesteel is one of the fastest growing steel manufacturers in the UK with annual revenue of over £100 million. In 2007, the company achieved production of over 600,000 tons of billets and over 440,000 tons in the rolling mill.
