The Galilee Society is the leading Arab non-partisan, community-wide non-governmental organization committed to achieve equitable health, environmental and socio-economic conditions for Palestinian Arabs inside Israel. We invest in bottom-up approaches to empower local leadership and enable sustainable development for the benefit of the Palestinian community.
Our Vision
We envision a democratic, progressive and healthy society where the Palestinians Citizens in Israel live in dignity and equality in their homeland while preserving their identity and advancing their social and economic development.
History
Established in 1981 by four healthcare professionals, we have grown over the years from an all-volunteer organization into an institution staffed by 45 multi-disciplinary, multi-lingual professional and administrative employees.
Since then, we have implemented many successful projects on health and environment, gaining wide legitimacy in Israel and establishing ourselves as a leading figure in advocacy on behalf of Palestinian citizens of Israel.
Strategies
We maintain strategic alliances with local, regional, and international bodies – from citizens’ committees, women and youth groups, educational institutions, municipal authorities, to professional associations. We consistently demonstrate our ability to empower communities, manage complex initiatives of national significance for the Palestinians in Israel, and offer cutting-edge solutions to regional problems. To achieve our goals, we expertly employ a wide range of strategies, including:
● Research
