The Brembo company was founded in January 1961 in the city of Bergamo, Italy. It is named after the river flowing through this province. From the production of brake discs for cars, to the brake systems for motorcycles, Brembo products became part of the Formula One racing cars. Currently, the company produces and supplies its Brembo brake discs or brake systems across the world’s most significant carmakers and manufacturers of motorcycles. Today, Brembo production plants can be found in 16 countries in Europe, Asia and America.
Due to the research and development of new materials, technological innovation and top quality of its products, Brembo has become the most prestigious brand in its field. Roughly one-tenth of its employees is involved in the research and development. The company's development centre, Kilometro Rosso Science & Technology Park, is among the top science centres in Italy. Emphasis on the quality of products is one of the fundamental values of the company. With the ability to cast in its own foundry operations, Brembo has the quality of its products under control from the very beginning of the manufacturing process.
The Czech production plant Brembo Czech is located in Ostrava-Hrabová since 2011 as it employs 1 200 workers. In the Ostrava plant we produce top-quality brake modules for the premium passenger car series such as Land Rover, Audi, BMW, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz. The complete manufacturing process from casting of the brake calipers and other chassis parts from aluminium, through machining, surface treatment, up to the final mounting of the brake module takes place in Brembo Czech.
