DMS Group was established by several professors from the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad. Scientists and entrepreneurs, together with outstanding Engineers experienced in technical and management field, invested decades of work and analysis into design of DMS Software, a unique, innovative product, with the purpose to improve, monitor and optimize distribution networks. The initial aim of their expert algorithms was to use it as an educational tool and system, but since 1995 it has been developed into a production system built for Elektrovojvodina, an electricity distribution company that is part of the main Serbian utility company, EPS, and since 1999 it has been spread worldwide, becoming one of the most advanced DMS systems in the world. Besides its use in electrical utilities, DMS Software can be successfully adjusted and applied in industrial complexes and metal production, and very easily in gas and water systems. SIEMENS has been the partner of DMS Group for over 5 years. DMS Software is now owned by Telvent DMS, Joint Venture of DMS Group and Telvent. Today, DMS Corporation, comprising DMS Group and Telvent DMS, gathers 700 experienced Engineers – specialists in information technology and power engineering, thus presenting the largest concentration of knowledge in the field of Smart Grid Solutions aimed for distribution electricity network. The Corporation is exclusively dedicated to developing DMS (Distribution Management System) and EMS (Energy Management System) technology that can be applied as a smart network control. It also provides services in the field of optimization and development of other utility software.
