Here at Hoos Flying, every year we build large scale RC aircraft to compete annually in the SAE Aero Design competition - a competition in which schools from around the world design, build, and fly RC aircraft according to the competition rules to see who can complete their challenge the best. Every year, we design a plane until November, build until December, and fly before Christmas. We continue to build and fly planes until March, when we fly (on a slightly bigger plane) as many members as we can (that could be you!) to Texas/Florida to fly at competition and meet teams from around the world!
Currently, we're designing planes to carry as many soccer balls and as much steel as possible. We placed 3rd overall in 2019, and 6th overall in 2020 - with a plane that carried 20 pounds of steel and had a 10 ft wingspan.
