In business since 2003, we are one of the only fully licensed Landscape Architecture playground design firms in Canada to specialise in the design and development of natural playgrounds and outdoor learning environments for private and public schools, daycare centres, ECE teaching facilities, institutions, and municipalities.
Our play components can include earth shapes and earth sculptures, native vegetation (including trees, shrubs, grasses, flowers), as well as boulders, rock structures and plantings to create natural fences and play opportunities.
Mike Salisbury is a fully licensed OALA Landscape Architect, a Registered Playground Safety Inspector recognised by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services as well as an OPA Accredited Accessibility Practitioner / Playground Designer.
We are physically located in Guelph Ontario about an hour west of Toronto, however we provide hands on personal service for clients across North America including both Canada and The U.S.A. Please call or email us if you have any questions or are considering updating to a natural playground. Preliminary consultations are always no-charge.
All of our playground designs meet or exceed CSA-Z614 and ASTM F 1487-07 playground safety standards and adhere to “Annex H” guidelines for children’s play space accessibility. We feel strongly that playgrounds should be available to all children regardless of limitation or ability. We follow the ODA and the ADA Accessibility Act as our minimum requirements for accessible design.
We believe that exciting and creative designs can only be achieved when users and stakeholders are thoroughly engaged in the design process. We utilise a wide range of highly effective facilitation and public consultation processes including; workshops, design charettes, questionnaires, public meetings, board and council presentations, direct student engagement and curriculum integration.
