The EDM Council is a non-profit trade association established to advance data management and advanced analytics as a business priority. This includes defining content standards and best practices for data management, delivered through its highly adopted DCAM and CDMC frameworks. Our membership consists of over 25,000 professionals from more than 350 firms representing industries such as financial services, consumer goods, pharmaceutical/healthcare, telecommunications, the public sector and more, as well as data and cloud vendors, technology companies, consultants, academia and regulators around the world.
The EDM Council is the originator of the Data Management Capability Assessment Model (DCAM) – the industry-standard guideline on the practice of data management. The Council is also the developer and steward for the Financial Industry Business Ontology (FIBO) – the standard on meaning about the structure and obligations of financial instruments, pricing, legal entities and financial processes. As a neutral trade association, the EDM Council also advises regulators and market authorities on the data implications of financial regulations.
