Snap originally started providing ISDN and dialup services to customers (under the brand of NetAccess) in 1996. Rebranding to ‘Snap Limited’ in 2005 they experienced exponential growth and success. Snap was voted TUANZ Internet Service Provider of the year, three years in a row and have been influential in the development of UFB in New Zealand. Snap serviced the first New Zealand UFB connection through both Chorus and Enable in 2011.
In following years Snap invested heavily in creating their network infrastructure, including dedicated capacity on the Southern Cross cable, achieving cloud certifications and building direct relationships with cloud providers, such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure to help their customers make the most from their cloud strategy.
In 2015, Snap was acquired by 2degrees Mobile Ltd. The acquisition meant that the combined entity could be a full service telco by complementing 2degrees' 2G, 3G and 4G mobile networks with Snap’s ADSL, VDSL and fibre broadband services.
