Pelham School serves the 132 kindergarten through sixth grade students of the small community of Pelham, Massachusetts. There is one class per grade in the school with full inclusion of special needs students. Parents and community members are urged to volunteer in the school or in the new combined school and town library next door to the school. Pelham School is opening a preschool in the fall of 2013.
The town of Pelham is perched on the ridge that divides the Connecticut River's Pioneer Valley from the Quabbin Reservoir and central Massachusetts. About 1,430 people live in Pelham. Pelham is best known as the home of Daniels Shays who was the leader of Shay's Rebellion. Shay's Rebellion is credited with spurring the United States to adopt the Constitution we have today.
