The Dante Alighieri Society was born in 1889 for the promotion of Italian language and culture and the integration of Italians abroad thanks to a group of intellectuals led by Giosuè Carducci. The aim was to make a contribution to the knowledge of Italian language, culture and tradition. Dante Alighieri's Wrocław Committee was formed in 2011, first as PLIDA Certification Center: the official opening took place in January 2013. Cultural promotion projects and initiatives meet the need for increasing and improving the services of cultural structures , to create a center of excellence that will also increase the qualifications and skills needed to develop personal well-being and social welfare and to foster the quality of institutions and companies in the Lower Silesia region.
