The name Auer has been synonymous with the finest wafer specialities since 1920. Rudolf Auer started out at that time in Vienna making wafer-based cakes called “Tortenecken” (cake wedges), which would become the first product under the Auer brand. Today Auer is Austria's wafer specialist and the undisputed market leader in ice cream wafers. Auer wafer products are characterised by the unmistakeable wafer sheet – a tasty accompaniment that simply make life sweeter. The original Blaschke “Kokoskuppel” or "coconut macaron" was produced for the first time in 1921 by master confectioner Johann Blaschke in Traiskirchen near Vienna. And it is still made today in accordance with the traditional recipe. Blaschke is the undisputed market leader for "Kokoskuppel".
