Meredith Marlay is a Curator and Art Consultant based in Los Angeles, specializing in photography and photo books. Her services include art directing, curating and cultivating new business for her clientele. She specializes in connecting artists to brands and establishing brand collaborations.
Her clients’ work can be seen in The New York Times Magazine, TIME, Travel + Leisure, Refinery 29, Bloomberg Businessweek, Esquire, New York Magazine, GQ, Maxim, InStyle, Numéro, Wallpaper, VICE, Wired, TASCHEN, powerHouse Books, Nike, Anthropologie and Monocle.
Meredith worked with Photo District News Magazine as the Art Director for PDN's special projects, contests and events. While at PDN, she had the opportunity to work with Photo Editor Paul Moakley (now at TIME magazine), guest contest judges such as Kathy Ryan of The New York Times Magazine, and artists such as Duane Michals for special events.
Commercially, Meredith worked under Creative Director Barbara Griffin at TBS, Inc. as the Senior Photo Editor, directing a team of editors and collaborating with producers and retouchers. Her position was responsible for curating and managing photography for CNN, TBS, TNT, TCM, Cartoon Network, and Adult Swim.
In fine-art, Meredith worked as an Artist Assistant to Gregory Colbert’s Ashes and Snow exhibition for Mexico City. The exhibition attracted over ten million visitors and has become one of the most visited art installations in history.
Collaboratively, Meredith has contributed to Joyce Tenneson’s fine-art book Wise Women, managed ArtSpace’s pop-up gallery on the West Coast, art directed photography for The Savannah College of Art & Design Inc., and worked with renowned runway photographers Dan and Corina Lecca for Fashion Week in New York City.
Meredith received a bachelor of fine arts in photography from the Savannah College of Art & Design. She has reviewed portfolios at the School of Visual Arts in New York and Month of Photography in Los Angeles.
