Junior Achievement of NEPA was founded locally in 1968, as a Member Area of JA Worldwide™. A not-for-profit organization, JA NEPA serves approximately 10,000 young people in kindergarten through twelfth grade each school year through its 24 in-school and experiential learning programs.
JA In-School Programs encourage volunteers to serve as role models using their own life experiences as professionals to teach young people career and life skills. Volunteers are placed into local classrooms to teach students about their role in society and how to successfully navigate their futures, beginning with the most basic understanding of themselves and their communities.
JA BizTown provides students with the unique opportunity to actively participate in the economy of a simulated village. A visit to JA BizTown lets students practice what they learn about business, economic and responsibility. The experience is designed to encourage a positive attitude toward the free enterprise system, personal economics and the importance of education for future success.
