The mission of Peace at Home Family Shelter is to empower victims of domestic violence to survive and thrive by nurturing their self-determination and courage; to promote healthy relationships and compassionate communities through education, outreach, and advocacy.
Peace at Home is a private, 501(c)3, nonprofit organization based in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Founded in 1977 by a group of community members, Peace at Home was the very first domestic violence shelter in the state of Arkansas.
The goal of the organization is to help every individual safely and successfully leave a domestic violence situation. We strive to meet this goal by providing the following programs to women, men, children, and individuals: a 24-hour crisis hotline, an emergency shelter with capacity for 14 families, transitional housing assistance, outreach assistance, legal services, and counseling support. All services are confidential and free of charge. Each year, Peace at Home supports over 1,000 individuals each year as they seek safety and independence.
